A lot has happened since the last time I actually fished the Yakima, Jason Boitano is no longer slave to the evening hatch fly shop, seen that coming a mile away, Johnny Boitano has left the Yankees or Red's if you will and started his own Fly Shop and guide service with a friend of his Ted whom I have not yet met. Johnny has been a good friend for many years we guided togeather at my Riverside Adventures camp and for Jack a few years ago. I am glad to see him out on his own again doing what he loves most for himself and his family. It would not surprise me to see Jason join his ranks and help become a complete fly shop and guide service right here in Ellensburg.
I hope to get on the Yakima once before I head off for the great state of Montana to fullfill guiding commitments there, it has been a great couple of weeks here at home working daily on the black hole I opened when I decided to build a house, landscapeing, and moving stuff in and out. I look forward to the days when I will resume my guide career here on the Yakima, fishing instead of working on ," the balck hole" It may be as soon as next year that I will guide a few months in the Yakima valley again. Untill then it's off to Twin Bridges and the wonderful trout fishing there on those iconic rivers of SW Montana.
For your good time on the Yakima give a call out to Jim Gallegher @ 509-674-2144 or Johnny Boitano @ 509-929-0296. Otherwise I will be happy to assist you in any way with a Yakima River booking.
Yakima River 6-14-09

Yakima is high and muddy and the Cle Elum is going that way with moss flowing as the river rises.
Doubtful these will be n shape for at least a week.
Lakes have been the ticket for those going trout fishing, chironomids are in full swing.
