A day trip via bank angling is a great way to enjoy the river and its riparian ecosystem. Fishing in complete solitude is the norm. Many trips end without seeing another angler.

The Yakima River - First
came into my fly fishing world at the age of 7, when my grandfather
took me on a float fishing trip through the lower canyon. We fished
a full sink or a dry line then. On the dry, we fished a brand new
pattern called a "Sofa Pillow". If that didn't work it
was a "Royal Coachman
Hair Wing". On the sinking line we threw a "Mickey Finn or a Muddler",
or used the Muddler as a dry fly. We only caught a few, but they were BIG, remembering
back I am not so sure they weren't steelhead.
The Yakima is definitely divided into five substantially different sections or
regions, all with their own style. It is truly many rivers amongst one. It can
be successfully fly fished 12 months a year, given appropriate flows. To this
day I constantly learn something new about the Yakima and its fish. Spring and
fall time is the best consistent hatch fishing, fly fishing on pods of rising
fish.
As summer progresses around the first full moon in June , we start to see the summer stone nymphs migrate to the shallows, soon after, the adults. It is these robotic little carnivores that make the Yakima a great fishery. By the full moon in July, summer stones will be available in some form to the trout everyday . At the same time hoppers will be doing their thing. Under the currents, It's a different migration of aquatic insects everyday. Now, with most things in nature, bugs are cyclical and all seasons vary. So, as for trout fly fishing, up to the minute info is crucial for the best success !

The Wenatchee River has not been open to steelhead fishing for a decade. The fish are there, the anglers are ready and willing to play the catch and release game that those native summer fish deserve. We as sportsmen can help the run by culling the hatchery fish. It is what wildlife management is all about. Jeff is taking bookings each year for September and into November for this fishery. 50% deposit required.
Methow River dry fly fishing for steelhead is the ultimate thrill when it comes to fishing in this state . Your best chances are as soon as it opens, until late October or low water temps. Get on ASAP as the early dates are going fast.
Get on the "as soon as it opens list "
The Klickitat has been one of my most consistent angling opportunities for fall steelhead. The Klick as we call it has a great run of wild steelhead that enter the river as early as June and become catchable in September. Nymphing techniques work the best but many fish are caught by my anglers every season on the swing. The river has two very different personalities, as do the steelhead that run it.
As with all my fisheries I can provide fishing equipment at no charge.
| Day trip (float or bank/wade angling) per day | $425 |
Price includes: lunch, all terminal gear, & shuttles where available. Tax not included.
We can take your booking over the telephone or e-mail. Since Jeff is mostly out on the river, try calling his cell at 253-307-3210. While he's guiding, he's usually out of range of any decent mobile service, but he'll return your call ASAP, usually that night. If you choose to use e-mail to inquire about a trip please include you name, address, call back phone number and the dates and location you want to fish. Also if you have any questions, or special requirements, don't hesitate to put them in the e-mail. All Bookings will receive a confirmation via e-mail. It will contain pertinent information about your date. Please read it carefully and inform us of any errors or changes asap.
If you are paying by credit card or debit card, we will hold the total amount of the guided trip fee against your card, but not actually bill your card until the day of your trip or if you decide to cancel your trip within a 60 day period. Upon confirmation, we ask that you pay the total trip charge, and this is payable via check or credit card (Master Card or Visa).
The client may cancel a booking up to 60 days prior to their confirmed date, with no penalty. The client may reschedule up to 30 days prior to their date. If you cannot reschedule you will be charged 50% of the total amount of the guided trip. Within thirty days the client is responsible for the total amount of of the date(s). We also understand that emergencies and unforseen events take place, and this will strongly be taken into consideration by Jeff.
The fly fishing guided trip service business is based on the pre-arrangement of guides, equipment and location requirements to coincide with the day or days you the client has chosen to fish. These types of businesses can only operate if those dates are POSITIVE.
There are issues of water quality ie; high flows, turbidity etc., that can change in a matter of hours. We can sometimes predict these conditions and therefore, booked dates may be cancelled or moved to open days later in the season. This is done based upon the professional opinion from your guide. During the winter months when this happens, the client will be called prior to their date, and will be informed of fishing conditions that may adversely affect their guided trip. We want to ensure that you have the best conditions for your guided trip, and unfortunately sometimes mother nature does not cooperate with us. \
When planning a larger group you may want to book earlier and/or book as TENTATIVE for dates. We'll get things started and you can have some extra time getting your group together as to times and dates before a confirmation. We will keep in close touch and help in anyway.
