The Guided fly fishing business is based on the PRE arrangement of guides, equipment, location requirements and lodging to coincide with the day or days you the client has chosen to fish. These types of businesses can only operate if those dates are POSITIVE.

There is the issue of water quality i.e., high flows, turbidity etc. that can change in a matter of hours. We can sometimes predict this happening and booked dates will be cancelled or moved to open days later in the season or next season. This is done upon the advice from your guide be it myself or one of the guides we use. During the winter months when this may happen I will call the clients prior to their dates and inform them of fishing conditions that may affect their trip. Your nonrefundable deposit will be transferred to another open date should the river be unfishable upon the booked date.

The dates booked are held with a $100 non refundable deposit per boat per day paid by check mailed to Brazda’s Fly Fishing, and a valid CC number supplied at time of booking to hold the days. The client may re-schedule up to 45 days prior to their date. If you cancel within 45-30 days of your scheduled date you will be charged 50% of the total trip costs. Cancellations within 30 days of scheduled date the client is responsible for the full price of their booking and will be charged on the Credit Card number supplied at booking. Remaining payment for your dates will be paid with a check, cash or credit card at the end of your fishing dates.

We strive to provide you with the very best fly fishing guide service for steelhead and trout in Washington, Montana, Alaska and Saltwater abroad. I have fished, guided and traveled through out the west and have compiled the best opportunity for each season within my fly fishing guide service.

We start the yearly season fly fishing the Olympic Peninsula, steelhead fly fishing from late January through April; here we target the largest steelhead in the lower 48 states, Spey fishing and nymph fishing on the Sol-Duc River, Hoh River, Bogachiel River, Queets River and Calawah River.

Late April and May have us fly fishing abroad for Permit and Bonefish on the Yucatan Peninsula also known as the Permit Coast, April /May happens to be the peak of the Permit season. We find Bonefish in schools of over a hundred and Permit by the dozen, throw in the baby Tarpon on the senates’’ and you have the coveted grand slam.

June through September finds me in the great state of Montana fly fishing for trout out of Twin Bridges, SW Montana home of Winston rods and Bog Hole brown trout, toss in the Beaverhead River and the Jefferson River with its aggressive Rainbow trout and you have a great fishery for every month of summer.

June and July I will break up my trout season with a few custom 7 day floats in Alaska with Christian Elwell of Borealis Outdoor Adventures, we go for the wild rainbows and often catch a mixed bag of everything that is swimming. Fly fishing float trips on the Alagnek River, Goodnews River and Kenectoc River are available.

Fall time brings me back home to my roots and fly fishing the Upper Columbia Steelhead on the Methow River, with September being a month for the Klickitat River, October and November finds us guiding Fly fishing on the Methow River or Wenatchee River.

December / January has all the attributes of every steelhead season when weather permits, but is best suited for local waterfowl hunting and for that we have time as well, be it guided Goose hunting from a pit in Central Washington or guided hunting in a Duck blind along the Columbia flyway we follow the migration to the end of the season in January just in time for the OP Steelhead linking the circle of a seasonal guide life.

Washington Fly Fishing Guides - Fall Steelhead Fly Fishing on the Methow River, Wenatchee River and Klickitat River for the 2011 Season

The fall run on the Methow for 2011 was a really good year.

With the larger runs of hatchery fish this season the Wenatchee River and Methow River are expected to open in October or earlier. Both of these systems have ESA listed wild steelhead and the hatchery fish must be removed to allow for better genetics when they spawn.

The upper Columbia strain is known for it’s free rising, a tendency which is definitely a bonus to the fly angler. The Klickitat will be fishing well by the second week of September and the Wenatchee and the Methow as soon as it opens in early October.
