It is my belief that a fishing guide service needs to provide more than what clients and guests are expecting. The group of Guides that we use are full time proffesionals in the sport of fly fishing, and have talents that only come with experiance on the water. Collectively, the steelhead guides at Brazdas fly fishing have nearly fifty years of guiding experience and each a lifetime of angling. Although the youngest of the crew is only 24 he possess the mindset and skills of anglers twice his age. Out of all my guides I am the only one that has actually held a carreer in any other field than fly fish guiding, and I have the grey hair to show it.

Jeff BrazdaMyself, Jeff Brazda, owner operator (www.Brazdasflyfishing.com) , 30 years as a near phsycotic steelhead angler and a life long member of the school of hard knocks. I’ve spent 30 years steelhead fishing on the Olympic Peninsula, and guiding the last fifteen. I have hunted and fished my entire life beginning on the Methow river in 1970 at age 7. Over 10 years guiding on the Yakima, and the last 7 years guiding in Montana at the Stonefly Inn for trout my second passion in life. I left the dirty life of heavy highway construction in 1998 for the final time and never looked back.

 

 

Tyler BarrusTyler Barrus: Tyler is a life long fishing guide and now also manages sporting ranches in the great state of Montana. Since leaving a 10 year guide job in South America (TDF) as a trout fishing guide in 2004 he has been spending the last 7 years on the Olympic Peninsula during winter / spring steelhead season, and guides at Crane Medows Lodge Montana all summer. The most enthusiastic and hardest working fishing guide I have ever known.

 

 

Joe WillauerJoe Willauer: Joe has been a friend and guiding buddy since 2001 and our days on the Yakima River, he pulled his first set of oars before the age of 18 and has never stopped. Is the comedian of the crew and a very good teacher, he posseses unwavering patients. Writes a damn good blog too (www.Evolutionangler.com) and now getting into the Video side of photography. Joe now substitute teaches and coaches Basketball in Dillon MT during early winters and also guides with me at the Stonefly Inn for trout.

 

 

Aaron OlearyAaron O’leary: Aaron comes to us from the town of Ellensburg where he is soon the be Married to his high school girl friend. Aaron manages Reel Wilderness Adventure  in western Alaska and has been a fishing guide his entire adult life, is scary smart and owner of Anglers Obsession guide service, ( www.AnglersObsession.com) Also known as “The Theory” in the Steelhead circles of Washington state. Aaron is a fantastic spey angler and very good teacher of all things fishing, one of those guys that is just figures it out on a daily basis.

 

 

Nate McDonough:  Nate is my duck hunting buddy and also a lifelong fishing guide, is co-manager of Bristol Bay Lodge in Alaska, voted best fishing lodge in America many years running. Is a tireless spey angler and has mad boat skills. Is a top Signature series tyer for Idylwild flies.
